Enham Trust Event

Onfirefitness would like you to know all about how are awesome charity event day went with The Enham Trust last weekend.

First of The Enham Trust , they are a registered charity raising awareness and supporting disabled adults to live a life they chose. They are based out in Andover Hampshire it’s a village within the town , it’s there so they can live a normal as poss full life with the support to do everyday things you and I take for granted , they have there own radio station , places of work , different roles with in their community it’s we’re you can get support for a wide range of disabilities.

Early last year 2015 onfirefitness was asked by some student from the Winchester university to help run , organise and host a fundraising event with a Health and Fitness twist , as we at onfirefitness run a regular Bootcamp in Winchester we were the people to get on board.

I’m all for giving and helping so onfirefitness jumped at the chance to get involved. The idea was for us to offer people beginning there health journey or were exercise veterans the public of Winchester the chance to have a taster of some other sport / fitness / exercise that they may not tried or were unaware of in their local community.

The idea was for us to help run the the day organise other instructors bringing them on board offering lots of different work shops from Boxing , Hiit training , body mechanics/ movement , running etc
we also got in touch with local business to hold stands selling everything from training equipment ( trainers , nutrition supplements ) also entertainment like a bounce castle and a roadeo.

The day was a cold one but dry , Onfirefitness was opening the day with a large Bootcamp style workshop , getting every one ready for the day.

Warming them all up mind and body ready to start the day.

We covered everything this is a taster of what we did.

  • Bear Crawls
  • Press ups
  • Squats
  • Lungs
  • 3 long runs around the athletics track
  • Planks
  • Star jumps
  • High knees
  • Fast feet

We played a couple of games / last person standing.

The Bootcamp Winchester Warm up.

Consists of basic movements rising that heart rate up getting that blood pumping , upper and lower body , pulse raisers , warm ups mobility drills , stretches while moving. And then again raising that heart rate back up ready to start the Bootcamp exercise. And much more.
Body weight work shop , instructing how to complete a press up using.

  • 3/4 press ups
  • full body press ups

Group lung leg session. We showed them how to squat and lung working the lower body hard but safely.

Core killing station.

  • Heal taps
  • Crunches
  • Russian twists
  • Full planks
  • Side planks
  • Bridges
  • And much more.

Laps of The Winchester Athletics Track .

  • 3 Laps of the track.

We finished of the awesome day with a team challenge Tug Of War , lost of run while helping out people less fortunate than are selfs .

At the end of the day we had hit are fundraising target of £500 which was the name of the game.

It was a blast and every one I hoped enjoyed and learnt a couple of things along the way.
